Words
don't come.
Where are you poem?
Surely a poem a day is not too lofty a goal...
Write yourselves down!
Make yourselves
known!
Don't
hide at the back of a dusty shelf
unread...
alone.
***************************************
five long droopy days of summer in March have passed
given way to glorious spring.
A cloudy morn
it's cover blown off at noon
cheery sunshine smiles down on the garden
of many colored nasturtiums
don't come.

poetry #1
Thoughts at night
about fierce
talons
claws
might
power
speed
about peace
mist
soaring
silence
being
praying
about life
growing
thinking
breathing
knowing
loving
****************
active, moving
walking, jumping
doing, making
bumping, thumping
to the rhythm of our own life,
our own drum
**********************************
thoughts
swirl
confusion
sometimes leaves me
cold
***********************************
piles on tables
papers everywhere
books, toys, materials
scattered, utilized
tossed, dropped
not put away
about fierce
talons
claws
might
power
speed
about peace
mist
soaring
silence
being
praying
about life
growing
thinking
breathing
knowing
loving

rainy day poem
Hurrah!
Our gutters are rushing and fuller and fuller
the leaves are wet and smashed to the ground
the new garden greens are growing and drenched.
Wet jackets and tights litter our entryway and
galoshes and open umbrellas cover our porch.
Cats are hiding hunkered down in dry spaces
droplets race down our windows
coating of car dust is gone.

the new garden greens are growing and drenched.

morning poetry
Breakfast Together
I get the carton out
she selects two brown eggs
and cracks them
while I hold the bowl.
I take away the shells while
she teases them with a fork till the yolks disappear
I plop a spoonful of bacon grease into the black skillet and turn on the fire
she continues teasing while the grease melts
I pour them sizzling into the pan and tilt it
We watch them puff up.
In a minute or two I slide them onto a small china plate with roses on it
because it is her favorite.
She asks for salt and pepper then digs into puffy egg bliss.

Raccoon puppets. I made owls too (not pictured)
Re-usable sandwich wraps and snack bags.
I've been sewing feverishly for a local holiday bazaar. Cats and raccoons are made from felted sweaters.
