Craft fair items

I have been going through my collection of creative projects to decide what I want to take to a craft fair on Sat Nov at Saint Peter the Apostle Church in Pomona.

Preview of some junk journals and little books I found: https://youtube.com/shorts/BIIiDtP_bB8

Trees at sunset

I had fun taking sunset photos at La Mirada Library yesterday. The pattern of branches backlit by the sun was so beautiful!

Little handmade books

I had a lot of fun making a bunch of these small books. Many have covers made from coffee cuffs.

The Little Things

I've been enjoying taking photos of Mushrooms for years and am getting ready to do something with some of them. It is so much fun noticing the little things and recording them! I just found out that I have several hundred Mushroom photos. Unfortunately many are taken with my phone and I have a hard time focusing (My eyes and therefore the phone camera) I have bifocals now so maybe I can figure this out!

Natural Color

I adore the color and shape of these artichokes!

From our neighbor around the corner. We planted sunflowers from this neighbor and have been enoying their cheery blossoms!

Inkmaking

Been Inspired my Jason Logan of Toronto Inks.
All of these were made by soaking flower petals in vinegar, then straining through coffee filters.

I used some of this to color some embroidery floss and cotton fabric. The photo above also shows the marks now that they are dry.

you walk to the computer,
sit down
wiggle the mouse
think
why am I here?
look at email.
this isn't it.
Was I going to look up ...
You walk away
it comes to you
you sit down to business
someone interrupts
will you ever get back to it?

Words
don't come.
Where are you poem?
Surely a poem a day is not too lofty a goal...
Write yourselves down!
Make yourselves
known!
Don't
hide at the back of a dusty shelf
unread...
alone.
***************************************
five long droopy days of summer in March have passed
given way to glorious spring.
A cloudy morn
it's cover blown off at noon
cheery sunshine smiles down on the garden
of many colored nasturtiums

poetry #1

Thoughts at night
about fierce
talons
claws
might
power
speed

about peace
mist
soaring
silence
being
praying

about life
growing
thinking
breathing
knowing
loving

****************
active, moving
walking, jumping
doing, making
bumping, thumping
to the rhythm of our own life,
our own drum

**********************************

thoughts
swirl
confusion
sometimes leaves me
cold
***********************************
piles on tables
papers everywhere
books, toys, materials
scattered, utilized
tossed, dropped
not put away

rainy day poem

Hurrah!
Our gutters are rushing and fuller and fuller
the leaves are wet and smashed to the ground
the new garden greens are growing and drenched.
Wet jackets and tights litter our entryway and
galoshes and open umbrellas cover our porch.
Cats are hiding hunkered down in dry spaces
droplets race down our windows
coating of car dust is gone.

morning poetry

Breakfast Together

I get the carton out
she selects two brown eggs
and cracks them
while I hold the bowl.
I take away the shells while
she teases them with a fork till the yolks disappear
I plop a spoonful of bacon grease into the black skillet and turn on the fire
she continues teasing while the grease melts
I pour them sizzling into the pan and tilt it
We watch them puff up.
In a minute or two I slide them onto a small china plate with roses on it
because it is her favorite.
She asks for salt and pepper then digs into puffy egg bliss.

Raccoon puppets. I made owls too (not pictured)
Re-usable sandwich wraps and snack bags.

I've been sewing feverishly for a local holiday bazaar. Cats and raccoons are made from felted sweaters.

Wonky 9 patch in progress

My husband and I started this wonky nine patch a while ago and haven't worked on it lately. I wanted to post this so we don't forget about it entirely.
